Unit II Parallel Lines
- Lines which are at the same distance everywhere, and do not meet anywhere are called Parallel Lines.
- Sum of the angles in a linear pair is 180º.
- If one angle in a linear pair is 50º, then the other angle is 130º. (180º-50º=130º)
- Sum of angles in a parallelogram is 360º.
- Sum of one pair of co-interior angle is 180º.
- Sum of one pair of co-exterior angle is 180º.
- When two lines cutting each other,
- The sums of nearby angles are 180º.
- Each pair of opposite angles is Equal.
- When two parallel lines cut by a third line the pair of angles formed in reverse position are called Alternate Angles.
- When two parallel lines cut by a third line the pair of angles formed in similar position are called Corresponding Angles.
